“prettygirllost”
I am happily married and have one elementary age child who brings me much joy. I have a bachelor’s degree in business and have worked outside the home for many years doing various office work. As a Christian, I know I am blessed to be alive writing this blog.
My 40th birthday “present” in 2009 was a diagnosis of breast cancer. It threw my life into a proverbial whirlwind of tests, chemo, surgery and radiation. What a shock. I really was one of those it-won’t-happen-to-me people.
Prettygirllost does not imply that I think I am beautiful and/or stuck on myself. It refers to feeling just the opposite. After losing my breast, my hair, my youth (I feel like I aged 10 years) and gaining weight, “pretty” surely doesn’t describe me. But glory to God I am a 4 year survivor and counting. Every year is a testament to God’s goodness and mercy.
I hope to offer insight to those who are beginning their breast cancer journey or who have a loved one going through this horrible ordeal. I will include information regarding a few signs and symptoms of breast cancer to increase awareness. Most of all, I want my readers to be proactive in their health care and to remember that their voice does count.
In my Retro Posts, you are a friend by my side as we are transported back in time to the beginning of my crazy journey. Question, cry and laugh with me as we go through the steps to breast cancer survivor.
If you need someone to talk to or just to listen, please feel free to contact me. Don’t go alone through your journey.
Note: This blog in no way attempts to make a diagnosis or direct your treatment plan. Seek medical treatment from a licensed physician.
You are an awesome woman and the answer to someone’s prayer.
Thank you! I hope that I am able to help others.
thank you for saving my life when I gave up hope. Thank you.
What a blessing to see your comment! You have made my day dear friend. I’m glad God used me to send you a message of His love for you.
I look forward to seeing more of your posts. I saw the one about the handbag contents. Some people tease me about all the stuff in my purse, but I tell them that if they were stuck with someone on a deserted they would want it to be someone like me. We would have food and all kinds of supplies. lol
Have a great week!
